Teaching Philosophy

Teaching violin gives me a chance to work with students of all ages and experience levels. My own background in studying the violin is diverse, ranging from school strings class, private lessons and youth orchestra experience. Because of my varied background, I am able to work with all types of students and tailor lessons to each individual student’s needs and interests.  Lessons offered include Suzuki instruction (younger students with parent involvement) and Traditional instruction (older students). With more than 20 years private teaching experience and extensive training in various methods, lessons are offered to students of all ages and levels.

Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens. If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart.”                                                                     — 鈴木 鎮一  Shin’ichi Suzuki
